Melvin Goldfield, M.A. (1960-2000) touched lives with instinctive art, creativity, warmth, passion, humor and vision.
Mel’s art is diverse squared.
He was a Master: instinctive artist, subjective & subtle artist, wood sculptor, silk screen printer, oil painter, acrylic, pastel, pen, pencil, marker, cartoonist, sometimes risqué... Goldfield was a Pied Piper of people… we all worked & partied at the dome.
His art pieces became known simply as “Goldfield(s)”.
Goldfield’s creativity and exuberance knew no bounds. His ability to create in diverse mediums was impressive.
Goldfield’s is a recognized prolific master of Art, a multi-disciplinary artist
Demonstrations , photos, & especially videos of his chiseled, wooden sculptured statues from local English, oil, paintings, hundreds of silk screen prints, cartoons, humor, poetry reading —will be presented herein.

The Dome is an impressive architectural achievement. Goldfield assembled master carpenters, stone masons, backhoe operators. The build & times story with audio visuals appears later .Among the builders Ron Rozewski -laid the field stones for the 38 foot sphere’s foundation 2 to 8 feet high due to slope,2 feet into the ground, AND the brick floor. Jim Croce paid for the electric line from road to Dome, Leroy Brown, star backhoe ,bulldozer guy dug out the the 4 fee foundation for all around,& cleared the road through the forest…. Ziggy, John Weimeyer, Henry Brann built the triangles, and floor etc etc n so forth.
He created seven silk screen portraits of famous Chester County, PA persons, which hung in the great entrance hall to the Chester County Courthouse
